Sunset at Dingli Cliffs, Malta

You only have to spend 5 minutes getting to know me to know that I love sunsets. Fireworks and sunsets are probably my two favourite things in the whole world, so when Joe suggested we watch the sunset from Dingli Cliffs I almost fell off my chair in excitement.

We made a bit of a day of it, stopping at Valletta to have some lunch and a wander. We had the best greek gyros that I've ever eaten and I'll be reviewing the place soon, so keep an eye out! We walked around the gardens, I'm always happy to see greenery in Malta as it can be hard to come by.

The once we were fed and watered we got the bus to Dingli. It took quite a while and the bus number kept changing so we weren't sure where we were going to end up but we got there eventually! We got off at the last stop then walked back on ourselves a bit (the cliffs are signposted which was handy!) and wandered to Bobbyland restaurant for a drink and something sweet until the sunset began. We went for the homemade triple chocolate mousse and OHMYGOD. This dessert is my 3rd favourite thing in the world, it was SO good.

Then around 7:30pm off we toddled to the cliffs to watch the sun go down. Unfortunately the pics did not come out well at all, really unfocused and I was so fixated on taking nice pictures I did forget to just watch and enjoy it, but Joe had a sharp word with me and I soon snapped out of it! Here are a few of my favs... the best of a bad bunch!

There was a really weird mist on the horizon and the sea was indistinguishable from the sky which gave my camera problems with focus. Once the sun turned red, it stopped reflecting in the water too so my poor little camera really had nothing to pick out and focus on but I think I got some of the colours pretty well, even if they are blurred!

Ugh I cannot describe in words how much I love it when the sky turns red. It makes me think of the path of a Phoenix- its like the world is just fucking burning right in front of our eyes. Then we're left in the darkness of the ashes until a new day is born. Makes me shudder with happiness just thinking about it. I may be a little weird.
